Hi there, my name is amber spring
I am a Massage Therapist, International Yoga Therapist, Reiki Master, Music lover, Sister, Daughter, Auntie, Dog-Mama, Friend, Wife to my sweet Manpanion Damian and recently a human Mama to our baby girl, Vera Simone. I adore playing in the dirt, swimming in the ocean, climbing mountains and staring in awe and wonder at the stars. I crave immersing myself in nature, for it is the ultimate conduit to befriend my own internal universe.
Here you will find scribbles about all the things that impassion me: the humbling power of mother earth, the incredible healing capacity of the human body, the nourishing impact of family, community and unconditional love, food as medicine, intuitive movement, therapeutic touch, sound therapy, meditation, yoga, spirituality....and the miracle that is LIFE.
You will also find stories of grief, love and loss that have influenced my own internal landscape; the patchwork quilt that is me. These stories are told from my own vulnerable heart. I believe the greatest gift we can share is our own unique nature, regardless of the outcome; for we must belong to ourselves, before we can belong to anyone else. Connecting with others from that sincere place, allows for magic to occur.
Vera, for whom this site is named after, is my Great Grandmother who passed away when I was a little girl. When she was in the hospital during her last days, dying of cancer, I would massage her hands and feet. Though her body was tired, frail and engulfed by the flames of chemo, she would smile. Her big toothy grin, the way she cooed and relaxed into my tiny 4 year old hands, filled my heart with the greatest joy. I felt honored to show up for her, to give her a moment of reprieve and how it soothed my overly anxious soul. Little did she know, that our time together would become The North Star in my life's trajectory. When Vera Smiles pays homage to those monumental moments; where through heartfelt connection and being of service to others, immense softening and healing can occur.
My deepest gratitude to you, reader: for gifting me your precious time, for bearing witness to the tenderest parts of me, for partaking in my passions and for being curious and therefor kind. Your curiosity promotes compassion and love, freedom and peace. It is my hope that ALL beings on earth know freedom, know love, and know peace.
May we be instruments of peace.
big love,
amber spring
